Definition of Doing Business As (DBA)

Doing Business As (DBA) is a business name that can be used for a person's or a business's website in place of their legal name.

It is frequently used to establish a brand identity and when a company wants to use a name other than the one that is listed on its government registration.

All necessary papers must be filled out when registering a DBA with the jurisdiction in where the business is located.

It is frequently required for this to assist define duties between the stakeholders participating in the business and shield the owners from personal accountability.
